Both of these custom knives are new from their respective makers; I had the fixed blade professionally sharpened. I haven't bonded with either of them, and I need to raise some money. I've tried to cover every angle in the photos and descriptions below, but I'm happy to answer any questions you have.
Prices include USPS Priority Mail shipping to the CONUS only. CONUS buyers only. Payment via PayPal. Buyer affirms they're legally permitted to own what they buy. No trades.
Post here to claim a knife, and then follow up via PM/email within an hour to arrange payment. If I haven't heard from you within an hour, I'll assume you've changed your mind.
K'roo Chunky Frank custom slipjoint - $SOLD (I paid $245) - 6 1/8" OAL, 3 3/8" closed, 2 3/4" from handle to tip, 2 3/8" cutting edge; N690 steel, brut de forge and satin finish; brass liners; ivory paper micarta covers, pepperwood "bolsters"; brass pins; hidden pivot; 5.3 oz. Backspring sits a hair proud when closed, absolutely flush when open; no half-stop. Perfectly centered, excellent walk and talk. Pull is a 4 or 5, totally pinchable (note that there's no nick, by design). There is a visible gap between the liner and backspring on one side, and the brut de forge is darker on one side than the other; it's also beginning to show a bit of wear where it pivots. The liners show a bit of tarnish (visible in the photos) from handling, but I suspect that would buff right out if you don't like the look. This is an unusual knife, which is what drew me to it. Note the weight -- it's a hand-filling knife, and lives up to knifemaker Willem O'Kelly's name for it: the Chunky Frank.
Jack ONeill custom fixed blade with sheath - $SOLD (I paid $175) - 6 7/8" OAL, 3 1/8" from handle to tip, 2 7/8" cutting edge; stabilized buckeye burl scales; aluminum mosaic pins; black liners; 5/32" 154 CM steel; 7.4 oz. w/sheath, 4.9 oz. without. Leather sheath was also custom-made by Jack; those are range marks on the front. The liner on the pile side is slightly longer than the handle scale. Apart from that, the knife is perfect -- beautiful weight, the burl is gorgeous, smooth in hand, and the sheath fits like a glove. There's just the right amount of handle to grab to fish out the knife, but it stays in snug.
Thanks for looking!
