Collins style machete, scaled down to about 80% of the size of the knife that first introduced me to this style, the Gavilan Collins Machete of a customer of mine, which I recreated for him in a new steel with some design modifications. Here are pics of his original in 1/8" thick stock, and my take on it in 3/16" stock per his request for a more serious chopping tool:
Original

His new version:

Please find below the present offering, a Collins Mini Machete, a high value, no nonsense tool.
Overall: 15 1/2"
Blade: 8 3/4", 5/32" 1084 carbon steel from New Jersey Steel Baron, heat treated, and tempered at 450°
Handle scales: a hair under 5", black canvas Micarta, stainless steel pins
Comes with a black Kydex pancake sheath for safe and convenient carry.
The blade is ground to about .020" behind the edge to reflect the smaller size of this machete, and give it a focus as more of a slicer than a heavy chopper.
Asking $OLD.
Price is via PayPal G&S (I will provide the email address in private messaging) and includes expedited shipping with full tracking and insurance.
First "I'll take it" followed by prompt communication gets priority.
Thank you for looking!
