This is a Gerber Presentation Knife, Model 525S, with box and scabbard. It is not sharpened because it is a presentation knife, usually given to commemorate an achievement. Very good condition. I believe it is ebony wood, 440C stainless steel, nickeled or stainless steel guard and pommel, each with a brass spacer. Leather sheath. Blade is 5.25 inches.
The presentation knives were top-line Gerber knives. There were five models, 400, 425, 450, 475, up to the largest, the Gerber 525. Only Gerber's most skilled master craftsman made these knives and they were essentially custom knives produced in the Gerber factory. I believer the hardness is 57 Rc. It was mostly likely made in the 1970s.
Price $180 TYD in US by Priority Mail. First unconditional "I'll take it" in this thread gets it, if followed by a prompt PayPal F&F (F&F because of the tax issue).
