Grind: The blade is hand forged W2 carbon steel, and it has very pronounced distal taper, measuring 3.7mm (0.147") at the tang, and approximately 1mm (0.040") where the tip starts to drop down. It has a slight convex grind. Because of the distal taper, it has a significant heft in the handle, while still feeling very light and nimble towards the tip. See video here for the balance.
