I traded for this knife and it was new. I have since chopped water bottles, jugs and trees in half with it. The coating is starting to wear off in the middle where most of the chopping has occured. Also, it has some very slight dings in the sharp side of the blade toward the tip. I think I may have hit a small rock when I was chopping a log. Other than the small dings, it is still very sharp. I have not sharpened it at all. I have added a Tan 550 cord lanyard to it also. The sheath is a Steelnut that is Dark Tan on the front and Black on the back, this is a very nice sheath. It is kind of a dangler, but does not have a whole lot of room to swing while on your belt, which I think is good. I would like to add that I love this Blade, but I have some other finacial priorities right now and this has to be the first to go.
