Is it just me or does 440c take the best finish of any stainless and stay looking good forever? One of my favorite knife steels.

Spectacular knife.

Thanks. 440C is a well polished steel. But it shows the fine structure of the alloys on the surface. I made the best polished surface on RWL34 steel. When the right polishing procedure is chosen, the 440C achieves excellent results. But it does not have such good abrasion resistance. So if the knife is not in the collection and is used, the blade will be scratched quickly.
For mirror surfaces, any blade material, including CPM space supermaterials :), is usually scratched quickly.
I really like the 440C. It is steel in excellent proportions - price / performance. And if I don't need to use the knife every day (like a chef), the durability of the sharpness is absolutely sufficient.

You're right. Maybe mine hold up so well because they are parers and shelf-sitters. I love how it looks and sharpens. My love affair with pm metals is over. I've never wanted any performance from a stainless that 440 or 154cm didn't give me.
