Zapp z wear powder metallurgy high carbon tool steel. Longer edge holding and better corrosion resistance. Takes a great edge. I have a couple reviews from experienced users who are loving the performance of this steel.

This Z wear steel holds an edge longer than a 52100 type steel. The edge also has more bite to that same 52100 class steel. One user thought it was a stainless steel due to it not getting an immediate patina.

the steel is a bit difficult to process and work with, thus the blade does not have a high grade finish, it has lengthwise scratches and a scotchbrite finish. This is a working knife.
