For your consideration, two fine examples of Jeff Chaffee's work:

Damascus Tanto...3" blade, 7" overall...I purchased this new from a reputable dealer in Denver about 20 years ago. It has never been carried and has cut nothing. As close to perfect as a 20 year old knife can be. I can find no flaws. There is no maker's signature that I can find, but I have seen and handled several Chaffees over the years and have no reason to believe that this is not his work. Silky smooth action, rock-solid lock-up, no play, no stick, centered. SOLD

Wharncliffe purchased in Denver about 20 years ago at a knife show. I am not certain that I am the original owner, but I have never carried or cut anything with this knife. 2 3/4" blade 6 1/2" overall...signature on blade tang just above lock that I could not photograph well. There are very fine scratches on the bolsters which can barely be seen in direct light, otherwise I can find no flaws. As with all Chaffees, it is silky smooth, locks solid with no blade play or lock stick, and is centered. Blade material and scale material unknown to me. SOLD

Beschcode...the knife remains as smooth and solid as I received it. It is truly a safe queen and has been handled little. I have no knowledge of the blade steel, or whether Mr. Chaffee made his own.
The scales were represented to me as stabalized mastodon ivory...I have no way to confirm this.

beautiful knives ! You gotta own a CHaffee to really apprciate his work.. email sent
