No problem man! Micarta can be tricky. The real "brown" micarta is usually a nearly orange tan type color although there are one-offs and rare colors that don't look that way. Like I said I *think* yours is black micarta; if you drip a little water on it and it gets really dark like black color you'll know for sure.
