Re- Listed
A very lovely knife & sheath that I am moving on to make room in my budget and little collection for an incoming Spanish custom.
This is the Fontenille Pataud CAPUCHADOU 10 cm with Buffalo Bark Handle with leather sheath by MAX CAPDEBARTHES
This knife & sheath - are lightly used. This has been a dress carry for me. Has been sharpened and has cut stuff but well cared for - never abused - and still is way more new than used.
I would like to keep sheath & knife together - At least for the first go round here on the exchange. The sheath fits the swell of the knife handle AND will comfortably carry many other stout traditional multi blade knives that folded are less than 4" long.
Set up for vertical or horizontal carry. See more details with this link showing the Sheath Details.
Technical aspects: The spring is made from 3 mm thick stainless steel Z20c13 and features a blade-stop that helps maintain the edge of the blade. The "Shamrock" as well as the handle's top are hand-chased with a file: This denotes artisan quality, unlike mass market knives that have welded springs and are machine decorated. The file work details create a unique knife, making each knife one of a kind.
Guilloche: The Guilloché series IS AN UPGRADE FROM "CLASSIC" costing about 27% more. Guilloché features additional chiseling of the spring, liners (top & bottom. The shamrock and the spring of this knife are forged from one piece of stainless steel. The shamrock also features a genuine carnelian gemstone in its center
Handle Material: Buffalo Bark (outside of the horn), Africa.
Blade: 3" / 7.62 cm long 3 mm thick made of Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel - 56 Hrc.
Plates & bolster: 1.2 mm thick plates and 4 mm thick stainless front bolster.
Size and weight: Handle 10 cm (3.93") Open: 6.75" - 17.14 cm Approx. 90 grams (3.17 oz.)
Consider this: This knife is entirely hand made in Europe's capital of cutlery "Thiers."
HERE IS AN EXCELLENT VIDEO about Le CAPUCHADOU
