Today we have a beautiful 1997 Small LNIB BG42 up for sale. It features the following:
-deep, dark blue thumbstud
-100% period correct (blasted hardware, "flat" pocket clip)
-100% original (never spa'ed)
-beautiful deep belly
-100% complete
-CRK paperwork that explains why Chris decided to make the change from ats34 blade steel, to the then new BG42 blade steel.
I am in no way implying that this was the "first" small BG42 produced, however due to the birthcard, and CRK paperwork explaining the blade steel change, it is undoubtedly a very early example. Finally, for complete disclosure, the lanyard appears to have been possibly retied.
