If you have a 'goldenrod' type dehumidifier in your safe it may be the culprit. I switched to desiccant beads after a shotgun fore end cracked, then learned that, if the safe well insulated, condensation/rust isn't really a problem. My safe has high end insulation. I wax my blades/wood with carnauba floor wax, treat the metal on the firearms with birchwood casey 'sheath', have had zero issues for over 10 years now.
