The Story:
When Knife Center did the drop of Large Sebenza 31's with the olive g-carta (from Hansen) earlier in the year like a lot of us knife addicts I grabbed one. And well, like a lot of knife addicts like myself I turned right around and grabbed a second. WHY? because I needed a user and one to keep NIB for just in case right?!! Just the way I roll. LOL. Slide forward a few months I decided to sell the NIB one I had and did. When the buyer got it he immediately contacted me and said "this micarta is warped". I was in disbelieve. Not of him but that a Chris Reeve inlay would be warped. Didn't want to believe it. The person that I am, I immediately refunded him and he sent the knife back. I had to check this out for myself. The knife was returned and sure enough when you lay the knife on the show side it rocked in all directions. Weird I thought. WTH? so I grabbed my user one and I'll be darned, it did it too. At this time I was asking myself, after all these years of using/collecting Chris Reeve Knives are the micarta and wood inlays warping. I started checking all of them. Thank god none of the others had this condition. I reached out to CR knives (Tim) and they knew exactly what was going on. I was told that they have had quite a few calls about it already. I sent both of mine in per their suggestion and after a few months was contacted that they have chosen to replace the inlays with another green. A cross cut green that is a little darker (I actually like it better to be honest). Both knives were fixed and returned to me with zero cost. All under warranty. AND they are perfectly flat. So the user went back on the user shelf and the NIB went back in the collection. **I just want to say CRK stepped up. That is why they are an important part of my knife use and collection.
So now I've decided to sell this unique piece. A NIB Large Sebenza 31 with a darker cross cut green micarta NOT the olive G-carta as stated on the box. Please see photos for more details.
