Andy, that top one is beautiful! Im gonna have to get one in 1095. I think that bottom one is mine! I would post pics but I cant figure it out! I have the 1sts of the Bushbuster, BushFish, Peanut,Snatchet, and a the one above. Oh and a sweet little slipjoint that Bill added Buckeye Burl, mosaic pins and some filework too. He does awesome work, how do you like your newly acquired tool?

Oh, and if you wanna see how Bill makes his knives do a search for Bushfish WIP. There are two links up that show a beginning to end process.

Hi - thanks for the link Bowden. Man they are gorgeous.
If that bottom knife is yours then you must be very happy.

I'm actually a hunter that likes quality - not a collector. But Bill makes it hard to stay that way :)
I'm now planning to order a pair of knives for my two best mates that kinda match - with slight individual differences (longer knife for one - larger handle for the other).
What better gift than for 3 mates that grew up hunting & fishing together than to all have similar knives? And what knives...
We have all nearly hit the big 40 (the other two have - mine is looming) so I want them ready for my 40th - when I'll give them a present and explain what the memories I have of us being in the "backwoods" mean to me.

That link showing what goes into each of these is great.
Cheers

Andy, great story! Your friends will be happy campers. My Bill Akers knives started with me asking him to make a Bushcraft knife. Its the one you see in the WIP. It was his first Bushcrafter and he put alot of time into it. After that, he started calling me and sending me new designs he came up with that would be usefull in the woods. Im now proud to call him a good friend. He makes great knives but I buy because of the maker, not the knives, and Bills good people! Get him to make you a Snatchet! You will love it.

This one is sold, will be on a big jet plane to aussie, with a mate soon! Thanks andy

This thread needs a photo of a Snatchet!

I'll search the forums - sounds vaguely rude ;)

Ok found photo of snatchet - looks like a great little tool for the day-pack. I may have to look into these after I get myself one of Butchsforge tomahawk's. My knife \ kit budget is getting a hammering on this site...
