This hawk was forged from a bar of 1045..Edge hardened and double tempered. The poll is also heat treated just like a regular hammer.The cutting edge is 3" wide and the head is 8" long overall.Some filework on spine and belly....This hawk has forged flats and forged down neck around the poll..Left as is and given a deep patina..Good user hawk you dont have to worry about scratching up..Just use it
The haft is curly ash, stained with aqua fortis(this ash goes from light to dark), sealed with boiled linseed oil and finsihed with wax..
