Hey all,
Catch and release for me. I literally pulled this out of my mailbox 20 minutes ago. I am now funding another project so this beauty must go unfortunately.
Not much to say about this one. If you're not familiar with it, this sprint model comes with beautifully colored blue-boned covers. This is the best looking part of the knife and in at different angles the covers seem to glisten from deep purple, to maroon and back to blue. Very cool.
Centering is spot on, edge is sharp (very, very sharp), and factory. The damascus pattern on this one is the best I've seen on Spyderco's Suminagashi style..toward the Spydie hole and the tang, the layers tighten up immensely and actually start to ring around themselves. See the picture for a better explanation. Also, none of the layers cross into the edge, so this is very cool as well.
The bolsters I found out from the gentleman who sold it to me, are very susceptible to fine scratches and this one is no different. Very minor blemishes at worst. Also, the pins that hold the covers together have small chips around them, this too is from the factory. I freaked out when I saw this, I guarantee this is factory and can provide the link to prove so. Dosen't include the pouch nor papers, sorry.
