I literally just received this Fletcher Tombstone Bowie. I am a big fan of Dylan's work but I'm in the minority regarding tapered tangs in general. Even though I knew it was a tapered tang, I still wanted to give this beauty a try but it's just too thin for my hands. I have XL hands and prefer fat handles. This bowie is lightweight, quick in hand and very comfortable. I'm certain this will be an fantastic camp knife. If weight is a concern then this blade is outstanding.
The knife comes with two sheaths. The leather sheath is beautiful! Full disclosure - The leather sheath is realistically more form than function. It has light retention so it might not be the best for extended hikes or hard trail use. As an "around the camp" sheath it is beautiful and show worthy. The kydex has very tight retention (especially on the spine side). As with most kydex it will lightly scratch the blade. There are light scratches near the edge on the recurve. If this is a user for somebody the kydex sheath will work well with a drop loop or tek-lok.
