Following my ''Is the Emerson MINICQC7 really worth the money ? (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...s-the-Emerson-MINICQC7-really-worth-the-money)'' thread, which is still open if you want to give me your opinion, I've decided to ask for your help once again in finding a decent folder for my needs. I want folder that can be abused by a construction worker and EDC'd without scaring sheeple, but that is not overbuilt like most ZT's and it must be under 3inches and easy to find on flea bay because I live in the canadian north and there's not real knife store around. And the under 3 inches blade isnt a Canadian law, it's a city rule for all my Canadian fellows who wonders.

My criterias are Under 150$
under 3 Inches
solid lockup
Knife I can used as a sharpened prybar
I have nothing against ''tactical look''
No overbuilt folders

So far the only one I found was the MINI CQC7, shoot me your own suggestions!

Benchmade MPR fits the bill...that could be seen as over built though, honestly that is the only thing that come so mind:(

Maybe a cold steel recon tanto. It would do well as a pry bar and its only about $75.......................................never mind, Forgot about the "under 3 in"

anything you want to use as a pry bar will need to be overbuilt. Get a pry bar and a small sebenza.

I would say something from Cold Steel. With the Tri-Ad lock you cant go wrong! Also for the size of the folder most of their folders do not weigh much! GOOD LUCK! Kevin :D

This seems a little difficult. It's going to be hard to find a folding blade under 3 inches, that will act like a sharpened pry bar. That will also defend against wild animals? It's a joke, right? You may as well get a small fixed blade. Like the Esee Candiru.

boker albatros....i think it is under 3 inches, and is a prybar for sure. I pried gutters and downspouts off a house last week with mine. As an afterthought....its not light.

+1 I really think that you should exclude the MPR from the "No overbuilt folders" requirement. The MPR seems to be perfect for your needs.

Nothing fits your requirements. Not over built and for usage as a sharpened pry bar? No folder fits thats. Maybe a mini pry boker fixed blade?

Native5 fits the bill, one of my faves.

Medium CS Voyager....Tri Ad, I have the large version as a beater and boy is it solid.

There are plenty of solid knives, they dont have to labeled as overbuilt to be very strong and durable.

The boker albotros would work but if you can put up a little more cash the boker pipsqueak is a really great sub 3" blade

You could probably find a Spyderco Techno for around $150. 5mm thick blade and very solid lockup.

I second the Techno. I don't have one but it was the first knife to come to mind.
