Solo winter camping

What is the secret to keeping the snow floor from sucking the heat and possibly life out of you while you sleep?

Pitched in September when I closed up our 7'x12' 3 season tent and replaced it with this 13' bell/yurt style 4 season canvas tent.

Here's a description I copied from my thread in BF 's community centre: Bucket List # 2 - Tenting for one full Year - summer and winter in Canada

"Under the PVC tent floor itself I did place foundation insulation r5 inset "8" in from outer edge. The inset keeps precipitation from flowing directly under tent. Plus inside it forms a trough around the interior too. You know, for a river to run through.

Not that I have camped since all tents leaked and no air mattress held air 😁"

Happy to say that there have been no leaks at all .... Not in rain, freezing rain or snow buildup.

To this I will add that inside I laid 2. 4'x8' ply sections on 2x4s because this was easier than levelling everything individually. Plus both Daisy and I have cots.
