Well these past couple weeks have been pretty busy, so I haven't had much time to get onto the forums. Last month I finally made the leap to being my own boss! So I packed up my apartment, shop, girlfriend, dog, toothbrush, and headed north to Duluth MN. This area is known to be an epicenter for outdoor gear craftsman, such as Duluth Pack, Frost River, Lester River Bushcraft, and Empire Wool & Canvas. I finally have my shop all in own place, and have made some big changes.

First off, the new name. My company is no longer B.G. Leatherworks, it is now Sagewood Gear.

BGL just wasnt cutting it for me, needed something new and fresh. I would have a website address for you, but apparently there is a problem with my web host at the moment, so the web site release will be delayed 24-48 hours :grumpy:

Second, I've been working on something new I think you guys will love. I call it K.C.R., aka Kydex Collar Retention. You know what that means? No retention straps! :D That little bumper you see it the thumb ramp.

And yes, I do have more coming, this is just what I have pics of at the moment. I will get that website address linked up and soon as its functioning. But until then, enjoy the eye candy!

That is a brilliant idea man. Mighty fine looking sheaths in general. I'm drooling over that one for the 9.

Looks great! Cant wait to see the Web site.

First of all let me offer you a huge congratulations. Starting your own business is scary and exciting at the same time. Keep making great and innovative products and you'll do well.

Second, let me say I really like those. The new retention looks great. Might have to get one of these for my tweeners.

I have to say, I'm more than a little jealous. I've often wondered what it would be like to own my own business. I've heard from more than a few people that it's the best feeling in the world. I wish you the best in your new venture.

It doesn't hurt that you already know how to make some pretty great looking sheaths and you have a specific and patent worthy improvement. Maybe after you get settled in you should do a pass around for the Beckerheads.

I'll keep an eye out for the new website.

wow goose! i like the way you solved the that problem. elegantly done. it takes some real cojones to really go out there and do what you want and be your own boss. goodluck to you sir and may i one day peruse your leather craft.

Best of luck, the sheaths look fantastic and the new name is perfect. Its refreshing to see new ideas.

That is some really cool looking work. Innovative idea. Best of luck to you and your new enterprise!
All the best

Very nice looking stuff you got there Goose. Glad to see you finally getting fully into sheaths, you do some amazing work!

Sneaky Sneaky Goose. Great idea and nicely executed as well. You, Sky, Nix, Azwelke, Godspeed, and Thrillbilly make it hard to decide who to get a sheath from..lol Its not fair.

That's awesome bro! Congratulations!

Send me your new info. I've been sending people to bgl.

Silver, I would totally recommend goose! Well until I get back into the swing if things. ;) and I do.
