Well, it appears JT came through and bought me a new knife tonight, it's the exact same as the one I traded for only this is brand new, comes with a Mashed cat kydex sheath as well. Thanks!

While I anxiously await it's arrival, get me psyched up about it.

How bad is the decarb? Rust while looking at it? I will probably end up grinding it off. How was the stock edge?

To me, this seems like a great do it all camp knife. Great for when an NMFBM is a little too big. Seems like it could chop, baton, food prep, pretty much everything. This seems like an ideal knife.

How do you all like yours?

Most importantly, post some pics :D

Who is JT, and why is he buying you knives? And why don't I have him on my friend list? (was this from the lost in the mail knife?)

Glad it worked out.

I don't think the decarb will cause you too much trouble. Give it a good polish. Should be OK. Seems like it does not run deep at all.

230 Glad to hear things finally went your way thats great. I'm going to get me a sarsquatch in the future. Let us know how she performs for you.

Horn Dog did a really cool sarsquatch mod - he removed the swedge and turned it into a clip point bowie. It's pretty awesome.

I love the Squatch. Although I generally don't like swedges and despise clip points, I really like the design of this blade. Both of mine have moved on so that I could pay bills, but I do miss them.

Its a great piece. I just picked up a Banned one and couldnt be happier.

It's one of my favorite knives. Probably one of the sharpest from the factory. You will definitely be living with rust if you don't grind it off. For me not a big issue as it's a user.

Good deal, JT! Sounds like that was a good way to handle things.

230, you'll love it. Like you said, it's a great do-it-all knife, and the handle is one of the best I've ever held.

The decarb hasn't been a problem on mine at all. Any rust that shows up on mine is very light and can generally be wiped away with an oily rag. And remember, the INFI isn't corroding , nor does it seem to be affected by the decarb doing so. From what I've read, though, it can vary from blade to blade. If you don't like it, it should sand off with little problem, but it does add a bit of character. :D

As mentioned above, the edge will be smokin'. At least mine was. I like the design so much I bought a second one, but coated. Now that edge is thick! It won't be a problem to thin it some when the time comes, but that won't be needed on your Comp version.

Pics? I ain't got no pics. I need to take more pics.

I think the comp blades are some of the coolest looking blades out of Busse. They have serious personality.

Three things come to mind when I think of the 'Squatch...

1) Sharp

2) Sharp

3) Sharp

I dig it... it is a great camp/all purpose blade. The decarb makes it ugly, but it cleans up really fast with a scotch brite wheel and a drill. It really is no problem.

After the scotch brite...

Yeah... I like guns. :)

Because the decarb is basically seperate from the INFI, the pitting/corrosion won't damage the INFI?

I beat the hell out of my knives, but I hate rust, so it'll probably be visiting my sander when I get it... Haven't decided yet.

^ Its just on the surface. It does not penetrate the INFI. A bit of sanding will remove the decarb layer. It's really not a big deal, just looks fugly. ;)

I have to agree with all the "sharp" comments. The one that somebody at the PO has was super sharp. Infact I hope bad Karma comes to them and they shed some blood from it. My only grief with the SarQ qas the tip. It had a very unique tip design which was super cool, but, it was not the sharpest I have ever used.

From what I could tell of the decarb.... do not let water sit on the blade, you'll get some little spots where the water was. However, it comes off with no issues. I used silver polish to get any off that had formed. I did that with your original knife the night before I shipped it.

I am sure you will like the squatch, it will make a great camp knife. Its plenty tough, but not very heavy.

JT, thanks again man! You're a man of your word and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with you again. Like I said before, you could have left me hanging and there's nothing I could do about it, but you did right by me.

I will be keeping a look out for a postman missing some fingers or with stitches, i'm sure someone has it. What's funny is, they probably have no idea what they have and they'll end up selling it for 10 bucks after they see it rusted.

What would even be cooler is if they find who has it, and it can be recovered. I am not counting on that. Yeah, they probably saw it and thought, "damned old ugly knife in a cheap plastic sheath, no one will miss this".
