Some de-assisted zt0350s better than others?

I stumbled across a youtube video a while back talking about de-assiting the zt0350 and the one he had in the video didn't flip very well. It seemed he had to have it tightened down pretty tight so the blade didn't rub the side. However he mentioned he had a couple other ones in the past without that issue that flipped nicely. I had one as well that I tried to de-assist but it didn't really work out without the bar and I don't really enjoy playing with assisted knives as much so I sold it. Now I'm almost thinking about buying another one just to try and de-assist but I'm wondering why some have less of a problem than others. I'm sure some of you guys have some de-assisted 0350s that flip nicely. I'll have a chance to look through a couple before picking one, just not sure what to look for to make sure it flips nice without the torsion bar.

Ive done 3 of them for friends. They all flipped ok. The detents were ok and they flicked well with the thumb stud. Just gotta hope the detent is strong or tweak the detent and make it a little bit deeper for betting flipping action.
Other than that. Huge improvement imo.
