Hi all, I spend most of my time here in Shop Talk so I decided to post these here for y'all to critique. In these pics I have a paring knife with walnut dymondwood scales, two chisel ground utility knives with black linen micarta scales and a small wharnie with an antiqued finish on the blade and rosewood scales. All but the paring knife are made from Aldo's 1/8" 1084 while the paring knife is made from Jantz's 3/32" 1095. Pins and tubing are 416 stainless. HT is done by myself. All are shaving sharp. I put a v-ground secondary bevel on the two utility knives, next time I think I will do a single bevel on the flat side.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the results. Let me know what you guys think.

Sure, it wasn't that hard. The blade was edge quenched so you can see a bit of a hamon there. What I did was sand the blade out to 400 grit then do a hillbilly stonewash (coffee can with rocks, water and dish soap shaken around for an hour or so) After the stonewash I heated some apple cider vinegar to near boiling and let the blade sit in it until it was a deep even black color at which point I rinsed it under cold water. I let the blade dry then oiled it. While the oil was on it, I used my fingers to rub the black oxides around into splotchy patterns. Once the oil had dried, I used some 600 grit sandpaper to bring out the stonewash marks and highlight the grind lines. It sounds much more difficult then it really was ;)

Here's another picture, this one is of the other side and the sheath I made for the paring knife.
