Some Foxy fighters are here and ready to go.

LOL!!! Yep got the same message! Good to hear they're being snapped up so fast. They're unique and one of a kind and something to be passed down through the years.

That was VERY quick... Foxy Fighter is here. This one is a MONSTER. It is a serious chopper. The safety creed about proper grip on the scabbard when drawing is VERY IMPORTANT with this model. I could feel the blade wanting to slice through the scabbard- so be careful. It's rather like the Movie Model and UBE in that respect.
This is one front-heavy chopper! Fit and finish are excellent. The chakma has the scored handle so you can tell it from the karda. Both are solid.
The Folly is razor sharp. This one is by Kumar. 7/16" thick at the spine, 3.25" wide at the widest.
This one is going to see heavy chopping jobs!

How heavy? Is it lightweight enough to be a fighter or more on the ang khola side? I am waiting on mine now.

Mine is more of a chopper. As always, there may be variations. But mine is a heavy chopper. The blade comes to a thin bevel, too. I'll test it out this weekend and give a review.

More on the GRS side! This sucker is massive. I'll weigh it when I get home, but it feels heavier than my Ganga Ram Special. I'm at work, and the job market precludes my taking an swings with it, but I should be able to post a first/second impression tonight.

Maybe if you were fighting a whale or something. I just got mine and it is large. The weight isn't to bad, to me at least, but the handle is a bit smaller then I would have liked. Other then a bit of rust it is very beautiful. I think that it will grow on me. Even in the short time that I have had it it has started to feel better in my hand. If you needed to scare a mob of crazed people I think Fox would be the way to go. 3.25 inches doesn't sound to wide until you see it in steel. More after I put it down and am able to type with both hands...and I do mean put the Fox Folly down before anyone starts;).

One of our more "creative" members uses cardboard khuks at work.:D :p
Such person will remain nameless, unless a search in the archives is made.....:D :footinmou

Hmmm. All these posts means mine should be here soon too. Maybe Yvsa's onto something when he says an 18" model. I would think the shape would be great for chopping, but the size/weight might preclude any machete like use?

I just chopped a 4" half-dead tree branch off in around 15 blows, and I think I could have done it in less than ten if I wasn't babying it.
This one is a monster! It outchops my 25" Sirupati for sure.
The handle is just right for me.
2" branches just snap under it.
The only khukuri I can compare it to is the Berk special. It's like a shorter, wider version with more curve and serious chopper handle like the M43.
I was thinking of trading mine because it was so heavy, for a Malla or a 30" Sirupati, but it's growing on me... not so sure now... ;)
Be very careful with the scabbard! Mine is showing metal. I'm going to find some thick leather and duck tape it for now.

I got mine this morning. I am going to have to tear apart the wrapping paper to make sure, but it apparently appears to be missing a sharpener.

Positive impressions are the style is wonderful. The edge seems very sharp. I love the handle. MUCH easier to grip than my 18" AK. Better penetration than my 18 too. I just used it to cut through an 8 or 9 inch dried red oak log and it seemed to do ok. There's one little uneven place on one side of the blade, but I'm not sure that isn't something from the maker.

Negative would be the weight. It weighs in at a bout 2.9 lbs! I was thinking the original specs were going to be pound and a half? While it is very easy to cut with, I can see how it could wear you out pretty quick with the weight. You can cut brush with it though. The edge is that good. The area I use to peel logs has almost no edge though. Despite me using it on the heartwood of the oak the edge is still sharp.

I'd say the best use would falling trees. I can't see any way you could use it as a fighter. Maybe it's Foxy's Feller! It's not a Folly and not a Fighter. I am going to test it more later and will post more. I want to make sure the edge isn't going to roll like Yvsa's. If I take pix is there anyone who could post em?

Based on the miserable effort by Kumar on this run I have decided that I will not order any more of this model.

Art Swyhart will take care of necessary rework.

Bill I think maybe you've just lost patience with about everything right now due to the circumstances you're under.:(
And you have every right to be disgusted with Kumar!!!!
But not ordering anymore, ever again, isn't fair to those who didn't get a Foxy/Fighter/Folly.
I realize that Kumar, one of the better kamis, screwed up on the order of Shop-1 on these, but the very 1st one made by Bura is perfect in almost every way!!!!
I would suggest that any further orders of the Foxy Folly be made with strict instructions to make them just like Bura made the first one with no deviation from the model, the same as was done with the Cherokee Rose.
Besides when you get to feeling better I want to be able to bug you over getting a 17"-18" model of the Folly!!!!
I will even join Paypal and prepay with a credit card as you said the new rules are going to be for any special orders from now on.
I know these are very popular kukris already because no one offered to take me up on the "Trade Wanted" thread I posted.
