STOP DOGGING MY COORS LIGHT!!!!!!!

Cobalt you are just MEAN

but I still love you :) :) :)

Oh come on. It wasn't like they were cans of Sam or Urquel. It was Pabst Blue Ribbon. Yer gonna take that from PBR fans???? Plus, when in the shop, you out-INFI most of us 100:1. ;)

LVC,
As far as posts go,this one should go down in the history books. Great still shots showing full action, lots of martial intensity with a touch of humour. Thanks for posting.

Great pics:thumbup:. Thanks for sharing. Now we need more of these action pics:D

Much closer to sober this morning, and checking this out again. If the supporting lumber and the chair backs is not attached, this is even more impressive. What great follow through. I have to say, nowadays I couldn't critique form with much validity. But, from the angle we see you, your form is near flawless.

Thanks again, and I think the first pic with the comment on can-ness would be an excellent t-shirt.:D

During the second cut, the first can in the line wasnt cut all the way through, and stayed on the turning block of wood. after trying to cut it in half top to bottom, the block fell off :(

It's just sitting there. i was kind of afraid the wind would knock it over since the tops of the chairs were round.

It'll be a lot harder once I get a full line of bottles propped up. If I can keep my angle and blade position correct, I'm pretty sure I could go through about 80% of the swing with complete severance.

Ironically, I just noticed that my local albertsons is having a sale on crystal gyser water bottles - 35 pack for 3.99$. How fortuitous :D

hopefully next time i'll be able to get a shot of the micarta at 5x that has some visual composition that allows you to see and understand what it is a little more readily then what i've been able to get so far. the combination of the 65mm lens being nearly impossible to hand shoot with (at f/2.8, its darker then most other lenses at the same apeture, with a massive long barrel), the glare on the micarta, and the grind marks on the surface of the scales makes it very difficult to understand the structure of the micarta.

you can only get so close before stuff starts looking reeeeally weird....

man oh man..... i love the pics..... the can cutting is cool but the shots of the micarta is art..... you guys have soem serious competition on your hands....

what the hell is that finish on those walls?????

this house was built by an interior decorator who apperently liked to do her own work, but was by no means a carpenter, brick layer, or stucco specialist.

Our house has been accurately described as a visual "house of burlesque". the bathroom has red velvet curtains in it. noting that the bathroom does not have windows. The living room wallpaper is a row of painted curtains. wall paper cutains....

Also nice that the plumbing wasnt properly sealed when it was installed in the 1970's... we had about 1/4" of black mold in the ceiling below the second floors main line.

Next photo session i'll concentrate more on the art aspect of the photography, rather then the technical aspect of trying to acheive clarity on the micarta.

I've pulled off eight with my SHBM thinned nicley, with no edge damage. That was crazy. BTW you can cut more cans if you have a little booze in ya;)

testing out an infrared filter on my 50mm f/1.4.... I don't have the infrared in-camera reducer turned off (or modified or whatever you have to do to have it lifted) so the filter makes everything more red than actually exposing the infrared spectrum.

Think you could do a keg?

Ok ok, how about one of those mini-kegs? Not the pony, but the ones that are 7-8" diameter and 8-10" tall?

LVC.... you had better save some of your creative shots for the contest...

are people allowed to post an image that has previously been posted (that was photographed by them)?

(if not, I'll just save the extra ones i'm taking until after the contest has started)

aaaaaaaalright... i figure, 3 hours with a busse and i'm sure i can come up with something as good or better then whatever i'm posting here if the rules stipulate that the photo has to be taken after the "go" thread.

SO..... lotsa fun. the bright red talon hole = 30 second exposure, f 2.8, iso 50. a lot of the f/16 shots were taken at 6 seconds.
