Just finished this set. Both pieces are inlaid in Nile Crocodile, lined and laced. The holster has sewn in sight rails and both snap on and off.Hope you like .Dave
Thanks gentlemen. Heber, I made this a little heavier than usual and it is very stout. On the holster I used 7oz for both the lining and the outer layer. On the pouch two layers of 3-4 oz.Dave
There are a couple of ways to line your work.On this type, since I am doing an inlay I just use the inner veg-tan layer and glue both pieces flesh to flesh leaving the top grain showing.I have also lined using deerskin and pigskin. That is typically sewn on to the front and rolled over the top then glued to the inside. Paul Long aka Sheathmaker here uses that method and he can explain it in more detail than I can.My method of using deerskin involves cutting a portion off the top of my vegtan inner layer, then gluing the deerskin to the layer, then regluing the cutoff piece back over the deerskin and finish the edges.Hope this helps.Dave
