Some Grinder Advice

Id certainly go with the 2X42. I started on a 1X30, then moved to a 2X42 for a while, then the KMG. I only use the 1X30 for the disc now, but still used the 2X42 for hogging handle materials. You can improve the 2X42 a LOT by replacing the platen.

Cool, thanks guys. I think I am going with the craftsman 2x42. Where can I get belts above 120 grit...they don't have anything higher than that on the sears site.

Free transfer to my local store too...score.

sweet. I have my first knife formed out but I felt I needed to het the grinder going to finish it right and in less than a year.

Yea, you can't do much without a grinder. I tried the files, but life is too short to fish with a dead minnow, dance with an ugly woman, or make a knife without a grinder.

QFT!
I appreciate the "Process" but I am a lover of all things tech so why not embrace the 110 and get something done in a reasonable amount of time. Oh Yeah...I don't think you mean dance.

I had one of the craftsman sanders...good little machine. It has somehow morphed itself into a buffer now, but it worked good as a sander too. You can get belts cheap off of ebay as well.
