I want to take 7-10 day trip at the end of this year. I live in Los Angeles and have a choice of going camping to Anza Borrego desert which i done before. Or take a road trip, For the road trip the idea is go to Zion national park then to Bryce canyon park from there to the grand canyon... I just thought about it last night. Yes i know thats might get me into trouble. Im going to be driving a 1981 VW camper. Still need to figure out the milage for the trip. Any places to stop and see on way and when i get to those three parks??? Is it too much to try and see in a week time??? I want to do some hiking, Photography maybe even some Geocaching.. What is a must see at each place. With the grand canyon i might hit the north part and drive south. main worry is Snow as i got no chains. Any Web sites with info????

That's a lot to see in a week. I've found over the years, especially if travelling alone, that taking things a bit slower is much more enjoyable in the end.

Bryce and Zion are incredible. I haven't been there in years but there is some a mazing scenery out there.

Please take plenty of pictures so you can show off when you get back.

SDS i have been thinking about maybe skipping the Bryce canyon and do just the Zion park and the grand canyon.. My main thing is that i want to hike in the areas.

Zion is great. One of the nice features is that the main section of the park has propane-powered buses that run from very early in the am until night to shuttle hikers to and from the trailheads. No wear and tear on your vehicle while you're there.

Angel's Landing was amazing but freaked me out. I couldn't make the final ascent. I also liked how much water there is running through that park. I went in the summer several years ago. It got blazing hot but dunking myself in the creeks from time to time was refreshing.

Have a great trip whatever you decide.

I checked out and the busses dont run this time of the year. Im going to check out about Angel's Landing I know i heard that name before but i dont know much about it...
