Some knives from John Fitzen - Skull Knives

Bowie,

Yep. He came up with the name bone splitter for that knife, and has since applied the name to his big custom bowies. The video it is in came out around the same time the bulldog video came out (i think in 2010).

SlickPete,

I agree on both counts.

I really want a custom bowie or atleast semi custom. I would actually be happy with even a really nice production bowie like the natchez. I love the look of the frankenstein but there is no way I am paying 4 bills for a slab of A2 and some paracord wrap.

Yea it looks ot be that way, i just recently sa a video though where he said he sold his original bone splitter. His new one is a Natchez bowie he put a wrought iron guard on and a stag handle, its pretty badass, he plans on selling kits with his guards (either the wrought iron or moore bowie guard) and a new handle (either stag or a coffin handle) to drop on loredo and natchez bowie knives from cold steel. I just took a good 15 dollar piece of stag and put it on my loredo. 290826_10151980686070517_624221886_o.jpg

Dramos,

That knife looks sick! I love the Laredo blade, but I'm not a fan of the handle or guard. I love the stag you put on it. With an HB or Moore guard, it would be super sweet.

John's original Bone Splitter is posted earlier in this thread. I bought it from him.

Nntrance,

I agree the Frank is expensive considering the steel choice and handle, but the only other game in town (with crossada and quillions) is the $1000 ATS-34 Crossada. I paid the asking price for both, and haven't looked back, but I agree that a hell of a lot of that money is going into profit. I dig 'em both tho.

Yea would love a nice brass Moore guard on it or a sick wrought iron guard, it would give it the old school wild west look I love. I plane on getting a Natchez and doing the same with a wrought iron guard and stag handle minus the forced patina. And I would love to get a southern comfort sheath for my loredo also.

I ended up picking up the frankenstein after all after learning more about it, it's actually quite awesome. But Very, very rough fit and finish and minimalistic for something that pricey. Overall I'm not sure I would consider it a better fighting knife then the laredo or natchez( don't have personal experience with this one yet). It doesn't handle as well, it has a more kukri or hatchet like feel to it. It's a beast though.

you don't need to try and fake hype your knives on the boards, its obvious you are John Fitzen almost every post you've made since you've been a member is praising John Fitzen, kinda hard not to see whats going on, just be yourself and post your knives and people will either like them or they wont. i think your knives look quite nice. cheers.

That was funny.

I like John's videos on youtube. Seems like an interesting guy. And we all like interesting people because we are so boring;)
