USAMADE Blade has a preorder up. Saying it will ship toward the end of the month. Didn't check the other usual suspects, but they must be very close to shipping from somewhere. I expected to see some in the Bladeshow pictures, but don't think I have.

The Production models were there - not sure how many. Pretty sure one was given away in a raffle style drawing .. but Blade is a whirlwind in my memory at this point.

Anyone figure out a way to add a lanyard on this, just for a little piece of mind while chopping. Thanks

I like the idea Gary Graley came up with, and then I also like how they are doing the custom shop versions. The simplest way I see of a DIY method is to mark where you want the hole, clamp the blade between two blocks of wood to hold it level, and clamp to the deck of a drill press, and then use a small VERY hard and VERY sharp drill bit to start with for the first hole slowly and all the way through to center the hole in the handle. Then remove the scales and step up the drill bit size in increments ( making sure it centers in the hole the first time then securely clamp the handle in place) drilling through the tang using cutting oil till you have the desired hole size. Then de-bur the hole on each side. The use that last bit still for the scales. Lower the bit to make sure it centers in the hole and clamp the scale in place and drill through it, and repeat on the other one. It is was me, I would then use a counter-sink bit and chamfer the outsides of the lanyard hole a little. With the crenelations on the handle, the center of the final drill though may be a challenge though.

Thanks, I like the idea of a small hole for centering first. I'll see if a get done time to work it out. Thanks
