Just saw BladeHQ is holding spots for sand colored and tanto (14717) versions of the current HK Axis 14715. Also a mini (14716) version of the 14715 and a frame lock tanto 14447 coming.
Now the with the BM 485 I am eyeing and now a mini HK Axis 14716!
Also some new fixed blades and a tomahawk.

The mini 14716's would be great as a little brother to the 14715. So much value in my 14715 at just $93 for nice D2 and G-10!

That is a good price for D2 steel, especially the way Benchmade handles the heat treat.

I'm in. Maybe not immediately, but I will buy one this year (whenever they come around)

Pretty cool stuff. I have been wanting to pick up one of the all black ones but I may wait for these to come out. Benchmade is bringing quite a few new blades out for 2015.

That's great to hear! I would love to get a Tanto version. Have the 14715 and love everything about it, especially the price for all you get. Yeah, definitely looking forward to this one.

I've liked most of the U.S. made HK folders. I'm really looking forward to the new offerings! I think most of us agree the 14715 is an exceptional value!

HK Axis or Stryker??? Hmmmmm?

Decisions, decisions.

D2 vs 154cm. IMO the HKs are underpriced and the Strykers are a bit overpriced for the steel choice.

If you don't mind D2 and black blade only the H&K Mini Axis is $45-$58 less than the Mini Axis Stryker. If you want stonewashed or 154CM blade you have to go with Stryker.

This coming from a long time Stryker fan, I must concede the HK 14715 the better value. There are subtle differences though. The Stryker is slimmer and carries smaller in pocket and hand, where the HK is a bit larger and the difference can be felt in hand & pocket. Slight as it may be.

For a straight up work horse of a knife I'd go with the HK. If you prefer slightly smaller and slimmer the Stryker.

Either way you really can't go wrong. Only real solution is to get both:D

Best of luck!

Sage wisdom here. I have been eyeing a 903/mini drop point Stryker for a while now. Just not enough money right now to buy all the knives I want!

Benchmade made a good move when they started selling both large and small versions. It's always been hard to resist owning both.

"both"

Excellent answer! :D

They have a number of qualities I like. May pick up a Stryker from the exchange to avoid the price.

Does anyone know how the mini 14716 compares the mini griptilian, I'm wondering if the 14716 May be a little bit too short in hand at 3.62" handle length, but the mini grip fits nicely

Was just on the brink of getting the HK Axis, but now that the Mini are out... Start to hesitate again... No doubt the lighter and more compact Mini is going to be a better edc... Oh, the Feint looked awesome and at an attractive price point as well.
