Here some pics that I have been meaning to post. There are a couple of Laconicos and a new Fallkniven S1.

The first is a stout little knife that Ray made for someone as a custom order. I am not sure what Ray called this design. It is ground from 3/16" thick O1 steel. The blade is very tall so there is plenty of room for Ray to work the thick stock down to a thin edge with his flat grinds. If you want to see how well a 3/16" thick knife can cut, get a Laconico!

The sheath is so excellent that it makes me wish Ray was still making leather! It can be worn vertical or horizontal on the belt.

The second is another Laconico. I don't remember what Ray called this one either. It is kind of a departure from most Laconico designs. It sports a modified tanto point and a cool maker's mark on the spine. It is also convex chisel ground. This one is terrifyingly sharp! I have had this one for a while but never got around to taking pics.

The last is a Fallkniven S1 that I just picked up. I have several F1s and have wanted to try an S1. This one really cuts. The edge feels a bit thicker than the S1 but I suppose that is do to the saber grind. Either way, it cuts really well and seems to be bull strong. This one wears JRE pants and sports maroon micarta and mosaic pins.

Wow, gorgeous knives. That first Laconico is freaking sweet, especially the sheath.

nice knives.

any chance of a more straight-on pic of the second laconico? looks pretty funky, but cool.

I am seriously wanting a Laconico!

Congrats on the great scores!

Sure thing... not as pretty since the sun is down but...

It is definitely funky. Ray really went in different direction with this one. It is very cool in a way and it works great around the house. The handle really locks it into the hand and the edge is very easy to touch with with chisel grind. Check out the grind on the tip! It has a needle point thanks to that tall convex grind up there.

I really like the handle on the second Laconico, though I am not a fan of tantos. How does it feel in your hand?

great looking knives, always seem to miss rays knives when they go up for sale. i was lucky enough to grab one of his folders. the s1 is also very sweet.

Those both look fantastic but I like the different direction Ray took with the second knife.

The handle on that one will surprise you (or at least it surprised me). It looks too thin and it is kind of curved but it sure works! There is a notch that your forefinger falls into that really locks the handle into your grip. The grip shape makes the blde sit in line with your forearm (similar to the Spyderco Ayoob). It is hard to explain but it makes for a very secure and comfortable grip.

I love that top one from Ray. Short, wide blqades like that are a weakness of mine. They fit a lot of blade in a small package and i find them really useful.

Wow, seeing the picture of the first one almost makes me wish I never sold it. I spent about two weeks and did about twenty drawings to come up with that design. Ray executed it perfectly, but I realized my other Laconico knife was going to get more use.

Ray does some awesome work and his prices are more than fair. The two I've got from him so far were literally perfect in every way. You would be suprised at how well his knives cut.
