Hi every body, Well it has been raining here in south east Nebraska
so it is a good time for making knives
since I can not get out and
cut trees. These pics are of a knife for guy who wanted to
have his knife made up like this. A very basic design it is made of
0-1 and has a 5" blade and is 7/64 inchs thick and is 1" wide orange
G-10 handle with white liners. This guy gets most of his food from the
wild (ie hunting and fishing) or his garden. That song that says a
country boy can survive, was being sung for this guy. He has a
1970s four wheel drive pickup, a shot gun, 3006 rifle, and a 22 rifle
a couple of hound dogs and a girl friend that is just as outdoorsy as
he is. She 3/4 apache and hunts, fishes, and was taught about
gathering wild plants and mushrooms from her mom.
They
live on few acres out in the sticks. When this fellow saw my
orange handle knife and found out that I made it he asked if
I would make him a knife. I said sure he wanted a thin blade
and liked the thought of a orange handle easyer to see he
said.( I liked his thinking
) I said draw it up and he did.
This is what he wanted
What do you think?
This pic did not turn out as well as I would have liked.
On to some other knives that were made up I put the scales on the
knife that I called a personal survival kit knife (PSKK) After I posted
some forum members comented that they would like to see a 4"
vertion so I made one up and just have to put the scales on
tonight. The 4" vertion is allready taken going to one of
our BF forum members along with a Pathfinder
These two are made up in 0-1 steel with orange handles
with white liners and silver nickel tubing.
Like I said the 4" knife does not have the handles pinned
on yet I just set them on the handle so you could see what
they looked like.
Take care all,
Bryan
