hey folks... i have been meaning to post these pics, since i got back from the shoot, but as usual it's been crazy around here...

first up is a, Bryan Breeden, Tyson bushcraft knife... i got this one just in time for the shoot...
it's got a wicked sharp 3.5 in. O1 blade and some nice natural micarta scales.. and of course one of Bryan's solid leather sheaths... though i didn't get any pics., this knife performed great in the camp kitchen all last weekend... the cntours on the handle scales, make this knife very comfortable for extended use...

all in all an excellent field/bushcraft knife... soon to be a favorite of mine..

next is a nice EDC style knife from Jim Rehrer... i have always admired Jim's knives, his blades are nice and clean looking and all seem like hardcore users... this one sports a 3 in. 1095 blade, with a nice hamon line... it also has natural micarta scales.. this sucker is sharp... i am truly impressed with this one.. jim's leather work is top notch.. this one came with a really well built sheath...

and last but not least, is a beauty of a knife made by abe elias of Diving Sparrow Knifeworks... i have been waiting quite awhile for this one.. i'm glad it's finally here... this knife is a bit bigger, than most of the knives i use/carry, but i really like the design a lot...
this is abe's NBS model, i had him take 1/2 an in. off the regular 5 in. design... it's got a really sharp 4.5 in. 1095 blade, complete with thumb grooves and a little notch on the spine, for a firesteel.. this one also has an extended tang/butt, that has some notches on it, that is to be used for making holes or scoring wood... the handle scales are a deep mossy green canvas micarta...abe is also well known for his well built handles... the contours on this one, are extremely comfortable, they just seem melt into your hand when you hold it.... i was surprised how comfortable and lightweight it is, for a knife of it's size...

after reading a post here awhile back on radio's, it seeed that a lot folks were really into the GRUNDIG mini 300 shortwave radio... and for $30 you can't go wrong.. this thing is cool... i have been listening to weather, sports and news from all over the world... we even caught the presidential debate while we were at the shoot...

think this is a great addition to any kit or household... it runs for hours on end off of 2 AA's..

Hi mike how do you like your radio?? how is the reception on it and how long the betteries last???? Why did you chose this one???

Nice pics as always Mike. Thanks for the info on the radio as well. I have been thinking hard on a radio for the "kit". You think this is better than the County Comm radio? I have always heard good things about Grundig. I like Abe's knives, if money was better I'd have a couple of them. I like about a 4 in. blade and 4.5 handle for woods knives. Abe's a great guy too. He gave me a lot of advice when he first got started, thats who I got those big Mora blades from and cut down for my "bushy" knives.

Great scores. I particularly like the Diving Sparrow, I've been thinking a long time about which one of his knives to get.

Thanks to this thread, I just ordered one of those radios

Always nice when someone else has already done the research :D

Wow Mike... that's just like X-Mas! :D Really nice scores. I've got that same knife from Jim and I agree about the quality of his work. His leathercraft is top notch too. That Breeden is also on my short list. Thanks for the photos.

Jeff

Great scores Mike:thumbup:

All the knives look great, I really like the DSKW, those handles look great:thumbup:

Thats the Jim Rehrer you were talking about. It isn't on his site. Good pile of goodies there Mike.

sasha-- this is a great little radio... you should check one out... you won't be dissapointed....

at $30 you can't go wrong.... mine has ran quite awhile on the same AA's, so far..

I have one of those radios and you're right, great for the money. The tuning knob is damn touchy on mine though. I've also noticed if I have it in the shade and then the sun rises to hit it and warm it up, or vice versa, it expands or contracts the housing enough to mess with the tune and you have to touch it up a little.

Nice knives, Mike, look loke some nice tough users there!

And thanks for the tip on the radio. Grundig's stuff is usually pretty pricey, but that item is certainly affordable.

Gald you like your Tyson Knife Mike. I got some more made up and going to Brian Andrews for sale at his site. Just incase you want a couple more. LOL

Bryan

I like the breeden and the sparrow....That exposed tang deal on the sparrow looks pretty long though.

Nice scores Mike!! I really like the rehrer. I have been eyen his blades for awhile.....
