hey folks... i have been meaning to post these pics, since i got back from the shoot, but as usual it's been crazy around here...
first up is a, Bryan Breeden, Tyson bushcraft knife... i got this one just in time for the shoot...
it's got a wicked sharp 3.5 in. O1 blade and some nice natural micarta scales.. and of course one of Bryan's solid leather sheaths... though i didn't get any pics., this knife performed great in the camp kitchen all last weekend... the cntours on the handle scales, make this knife very comfortable for extended use...
all in all an excellent field/bushcraft knife... soon to be a favorite of mine..
an in hand shot..
next is a nice EDC style knife from Jim Rehrer... i have always admired Jim's knives, his blades are nice and clean looking and all seem like hardcore users... this one sports a 3 in. 1095 blade, with a nice hamon line... it also has natural micarta scales.. this sucker is sharp... i am truly impressed with this one.. jim's leather work is top notch.. this one came with a really well built sheath...
and last but not least, is a beauty of a knife made by abe elias of Diving Sparrow Knifeworks... i have been waiting quite awhile for this one.. i'm glad it's finally here... this knife is a bit bigger, than most of the knives i use/carry, but i really like the design a lot...
this is abe's NBS model, i had him take 1/2 an in. off the regular 5 in. design... it's got a really sharp 4.5 in. 1095 blade, complete with thumb grooves and a little notch on the spine, for a firesteel.. this one also has an extended tang/butt, that has some notches on it, that is to be used for making holes or scoring wood... the handle scales are a deep mossy green canvas micarta...abe is also well known for his well built handles... the contours on this one, are extremely comfortable, they just seem melt into your hand when you hold it.... i was surprised how comfortable and lightweight it is, for a knife of it's size...
check out the sheath it came with.... it rocks.. abe's leather work is really nice...
