I finally got video edited and uploaded that was shot back in the cooler weather. Here is a look at the grinding and heat treatment on my tactical 'hawks.

A look at handles is next, and I need to shoot an updated look at making sheaths.

I like the way you set up that Evenheat.

Thanks, guys!

JDM - I felt like with the weight of the 'hawk heads, the blanks would probably get twisted out of shape at temperature just from gravity. I also heat treat knives and bush swords in it. I can hang three knives at the same time.

I can see that. My problem is that I have a 24 inch Paragon which is plenty long, but only like 5 x 5 wide and tall. At the time, I like the shell of the Paragon better than the Evenheat and the longer models still only need a 240/20 amp circuit and didn't think that I would need a wider chamber. Paragon actually started making a 10 inch wide model lately, but too late for me. Even heat now wires their 24 inch model for 20 amp.

If you set it up vertically like mine, would the diagonal be wide enough for what you want to do?

Not really. I figure you still need at LEAST 8 inches to do an integral hawk with a spike, so not quite big enough even diagonally at like 6.5 or so. I could one with a poll maybe. I was thinking of doing a one-off spike hawk after seeing one of your threads and one from Ben Tendrick, but oops!!!! :D I can do something like a bush blade up to around 22 inches overall because I have a half of a fire brick in the end to cut down on the overheating of the tip of stuff, but the biggest thing that I have done is a bowie with like a 13 inch blade and 6 inch hidden tang before it was trimmed to size.

Here's how I do the handle shaping. Sort of a poor man's CNC. :D
