It's hard bein' a p-dawg. Novia Scotia looks pretty cool other than the lack of womens. Maybe that's what's cool about it.

You mean that you guys don't enjoy prairie dog sandwiches? Guyon told me that they go well with martinis...

That ain't sayin' much. Heck, anything goes well with martinis. Give me about four martinis, and I'd eat a chipmunk (cooked properly of course).

Guyon, you wrote:

You're absolutely right. In fact, my dad would probably agree with you. He uses my visits as an excuse for more martinis, not that my behavior necessarily induces or otherwise requires martinis to be consumed, but rather than my mom is a bit more forgiving about his martini limit when I am there.

Hey we are not that far from each other. Bring some meat and show me how to make them.

Really it is just a gross factor nothing to do with hunting, animal rights and all that.

I went fishing with some two guy some years ago and we got seven big striped bass. They didn’t eat fish, so I ended up cleaning seven 17–28 lb fish all at once. I got sick after gutting about four:o and had to filet the rest. I couldn’t look at the d@m fish for few days; had to give a lot of it away. :grumpy:

It looks like the rabbit is taking a dump...

Stop picking on poor little Lil' Foo .....

Hey, you know us bunnies... eat a lil' clover, leave a lil' somethin' behind. :D

Lunde.... just don't mistake this lil' bunny for one of them p'dawgs! :D

Can't you see he is trying to eat some clover to sweetin' up for dinner??

Now, now... you remember what happened to the last wolfy that tried makin' dinner outta me... :D :p

Well, er, uh, I did manage to "disable" this jackrabbit during my July 2005 prairie dog hunting trip:

Hey, it's not a cottontail, and not terribly cute. Heck, with eyes like that, you could even argue that it is not indigenous to our planet.

Normally jackrabbits are difficult targets. This one darted in front of my dad's pickup truck while we were leaving a field (now laden with dead prairie dog carcasses), so we stopped, and I used his Trailside (.22LR semi-auto pistol) to get it with a single 25-yard or so shot.

While we're sharing our Kodak moments, I had a unique one in May of 2004, when my (older) brother accompanied me on one of my prairie dog safaris. My dad and I were shooting up a field of prairie dogs, and when I strolled out there to capture some of the damage on digital film, I came across what could only be described as The Mask:

I remembered that some of our shots were headshots, because that was all we could see. I was shooting .223 at the time, and prairie dog headshots mean little explosions. This mask was apparently one of the chunks, and the stars had to be aligned quite well in order for me to stumble across this gem. Where there hell were my tongs and supply of zip-lock bags when I needed them the most...

I've seen some of those get real big! Now talk about an animal that gets out of control... that would be number one for me. I use to take them out of my garden in Sonoma with a good .17 or .20 pellet gun. That way you don't spray guts all over the tomato plants.

Say, I received the email that you sent through BladeForums, but my reply to you bounced. Is the email address in your profile no longer valid?

Well I tried to get the point across but they weren't receiving. To me has nothing to do with cat, dog, rats etc. has to do with disturbing and gross.

I removed my wildlife pictures from this thread. The intent I had in mind was to share the beauty of the wildlife that existed out there in the wild. I wanted to share what I was fortunate to capture during my time in the wilderness. The intent for this trip was to observe, witness, experience and learn from all that mother nature has to offer us here on this earth.

I am in no way suggesting that I am opposed to hunting or killing of animals. This was simply not my intent for this thread.

I apologize if anyone is offended in any way by the content of the thread or my decision to remove my pictures.

Thanks for reading.

Your photos weren't grossing anyone out. I'm to blame for that, with the photos that I posted. If I were you, I'd restore them. They are very pleasing. If you prefer, I can take my photos down. Give the word, and it'll be done.
