Some of you guys must have nice bosses at work!!!

From the Criminal Code of Canada:

"prohibited device" means

(a) any component or part of a weapon, or any accessory for use with a weapon, that is prescribed to be a prohibited device,

"prohibited firearm" means

(d) any firearm that is prescribed to be a prohibited firearm;

"prohibited weapon" means

(b) any weapon, other than a firearm, that is prescribed to be a prohibited weapon;

Note that this obviously regulatory law has been placed in the Criminal Code of Canada; turning what ordinarily would be a licensing issue into a felony carrying a 5-10 year prison term. EG. they ban it, then charge me if I don't surrender it. In that case I get a criminal record, lose my passport and bondability, and any chance of employability as well. Oh yeah, everything they ban is subject to seizure and is "forfeit to the crown", meaning no compensation.

One might read the above portions of the Criminal Code as, "We can do whatever we want.".

A murderer might get 2 years but a guy who owned the wrong thing might get five. What a joke. It is an affront to the seriousness of Criminal Law. The entire section should be repealed and put into regulatory code where it belongs.

:( :( :( :barf: :barf: :barf:

I was just on the political forum and discovered where the term Canuckistan came from.

Quoting a guy named yobbos1:
Buchanan called Canada a nation of whining freeloaders and a Soviet Canuckistan on television when he responded to Canadian objections to fingerprinting and photographing Canadian citizens entering the U.S. Y'know there was a time when it was a good thing to criticize fascist policies wasn't there?

Is this true? I could understand, "We're scared, so please bear with our intrusions." But there is no need to act like a brainless knob about it.

If this is what Buchanan thinks of us, then he can kiss my rosy red and white beer-swilling hockey-playing buttocks. He's been watching too much 'South Park'.

Last time I heard, Canada and the US were neighbours who loved and respected each other. If Buchanan thinks he can solve North America's problems by blaming his peaceful neighbour and calling Her names, then Al Queda is winning by way of 'divide and conquer'.

What an @$$hole... Does he really think that, or is he trying to rally some sort of electoral support to gain power with ignorant rhetoric?

We prefer the term 'Canexico'. :D :D

Edited to say that I must still be angry about getting my car keyed tonight. So I am venting on other issues. Thanks for bearing with me!

It depends. While not a fan of Buchanan I think I see where he's coming from. Where I work, there's a lot of anti-american sentiment. While watching a speech by George W. one co worker said he was hoping someone would shoot him. Others think the US is the ultimate evil in the world today.

Good news travels and bad news travels farther. If all I heard coming from this country was similar to stuff coming from a radical Islamic mosque, I would tend to think on the same lines as Mr. Buchanan.

Oh.. thanks for the links. :)
