some pics of our northern Cali. trip..

Mike,
Nice pics. I think I recognize that red truck... is it in the middle of a field off the highway, in Orick? Ah good memories of hanging out in Redwood Nat'l Park...

NICE massasauga!

Why is it that most herpers have 109719273 skulls around their house too. My girlfriend says my room looks like something from the predator. I had to babysit/relocate a fiesty timber that would strike from 60 feet away when you passed the door. We named him Mittens.

Fabulous pics as usual Mike! What a good time, and a great family! Thank you so much for sharing those awesome pics! Nice color izula by the way!

Dave-- right you are my friend... that spot is just outside of Orick.. they seem to always be in that location... this was a huge herd... some of the males were massive...

Joe-- many thanks for the comments... she actually has a great skull collection... the misses and I are quite jealous.. you would be in hog heaven at her house man.. lots of snakes and some cool fire belly toads, that bark like crazy... she volunteers at a raptor center and also has a gorgeous female Red tailed hawk that she takes care of.. Miranda was hit by a truck and will never be able to fly again... she now does educational programs all over Humboldt county...

cheers.. mike

Russell-- i really liked having the Izula on my pack strap..

Right on Mike  The only thing with the pack strap mount (as siguy pointed out to once) is that you need to be careful on the draw so you don't cut yourself accidentally. Those rattlers must have cool to watch up close, and not in a zoo setting.

Hey Mike, glad to see you had a good time. Great scenery.

Yesterday, was Family Day, a newly created statutory holiday up here in Ontario. You and your family could have been used for a promotional poster.

Despite the weather, it looks sounds like everyone had an awesome time! Bring your Izula next time we meet up, I'd like to compare it to the Banned Prototype.

Great photos Mike. I can't wait for the day I can take my two month old daughter in the bush with me.

I too am really loving the Izula. I switched to a teck-lock with "sharp-shim". The Izula's small blade actually works really well with this small diamond sharpener.

many thanks once again for all of the comments guys...

Nice family mike and great pictures like always! Good talking to you again.

right on Reuben... it was great talking to you too man... have safe travels...:)

i'll definately bring it next time we meet up... hopefully that'll be soon...:D

I'd like to compare it to the Banned Prototype.

 What, pray tell, is the "Banned Prototype"?? Sounds like something so heinous and vile that that it didn't go into production out of fear of what it might do to the children. :p

Do we have pics?

haha...:o it's nothing that big.. "Ban" is the name of a member here on BF... he is also a PT knifemaker.. a lot of folks take/send their knives to him to be sharpened.. the guy can put a mean light-saber edge on a knife...
Mr.pink has one of the Izula proto's that Ban has sharpened, hence the term "Banned prototype"...:D

both Mr. pink and Ban live failry close to me, and we try and get together every now and again...:)

I spent many summers up in Fortuna with my Aunt and Uncle and cousins. Many very fond memories. Did you get to spend anytime in Eureka? What about Ferndale?

Little-known trivia about McKinleyville: Arthur Tripp, formerly of the Mothers of Invention, once made his home in McKinleyville, and worked there as a chiropractor. I stopped in his office one day, to meet this august personage, but he was, unfortunately, out. I did have tea with his wife, though. Or maybe it was just his secretary. In any case, a delightful woman.

McKinleyville! Oh how I miss you!

haha.. McKinleyville is a cool little town.. though it's a little too yuppy for me... :o my wife's friend actually lived there for a long time... kind of on the outskirts of town, so it was a little better....

where abouts are you at now Dave??
