Some pics of the new ESEE pack (formerly the RAT pack)

I'm thinking I could use MOLLE clips to attach this to the front of my Junglas knife, maybe with a smaller accessory pouch underneath it once those come out.

If your looking for real world testers.I'm so very much in.:p
Seriously.Great liking set up.I like the modular set up.both packs for longer jonts.half for shorter hikes.Or when weight is an issue.

As you may have noticed most of the changes are the result of the earlier thread I started on design suggestions. To be honest there is nothing here that Maxpedition, Blackhawk, REI, Campmor or a dozen other manufacturers haven't already done but we try to always provide the highest quality at an affordable price. At the same time this new version bears little resemblence to the original version that Iron Mountain builds. That is the result of the many suggestions, critics and even complaints we had about the original version. We listen to you guys and gals and try to always improve and deliver what you want. Yes it is the same manufacturer in Colombia that builds the Junglas Laserna pack. I should have pricing buy end of July and we hope to be shipping by September or October. Three colors, OD-khaki-black, will be available through dealers with a lot of options as to how to buy. In other words you should be able to buy only the large bag with strap, small bag only or both bags at a deal. A lot of that is dependant on what the dealers want to do. Be patient and it'll get here.:) Mike

Mike,
I thought the original pack was made by Lost Mountain Iron Works not iron mountian? Am I wrong on his point? Buying products made in the USA is very important. We are in trouble as a country for this reason wanting cheaper options might feel good now but....

i just pitched a tent in my pants.

good to know that the pack is coming back out. i was about to inquire on if ESEE would sell the item as a standalone so i can customize it on my own for urban areas.

Mike,

Yes, Lost Mountain Iron Works. I've called it Iron Mountain and hell probably Iron Maiden too. :D

We like made in USA too and hence why our knives and as much of our sheaths as we can are made in USA. BUT it is important to actually deliver a product to the customer in a timely fashion at an affordable price. We have zipped through half a dozen U.S. companies trying to find someone that sews and delivers reliably and consistently. Jeff and I joke that there must be something in cordura fabric that fries people's brains that sew it.:) I stuck with a couple way past when I should have just trying to keep the made in USA label. But the bottom line is we could not continue to do business with these U.S. companies and deliver anything reliably. Why do you think Maxpedition, Blackhawk and many other U.S. owned companies have had to go out of the U.S. to get goods made? It isn't all about price. It IS about quality, reliability and yes price. The company we will be dealing with on this new pack in Colombia straight up have the best quality we have seen- U.S. or otherwise. The cordura, thread and other fittings are U.S. made. They can deliver on time and the price isn't sweat shop prices but it is affordable. We are in this to have fun and do business with integrity and give customers what they want. Our products and customer service reflect that. If I can have it made in USA to those ends I will. If I have to go to Colombia or Mexico to give customers what they want I will do that to in the sheath market. The ESEE knives will remain made in USA. When we cannot have fun doing this anymore then we will simply quit and find something else to do. Our lives and our fortunes are not dependent on anyone or anything but ourselves.

You guys are worth providing the best we can give you. We will continue to do that:)
