Ordered a Kalinga Pro fixed blade and a Gen 5 Skinner (154CM) yesterday. Been considering getting both of these for a while now and noticed they were getting harder to find. While surfing yesterday I found a dealer that not only had them both in stock but had about the best prices going.

Since it will probably be late this week before they arrive I was wondering if those of you who have these models could post some pics and your opinions on them to tide me over until my new girls arrive? :D

Both are great looking knives. I say great looking, because that's pretty much all I do with them. As far as usability goes, you will have to rely on one of the hunters to speak to that.

I've never seen or handles a kalinga in real ,so i can't say anything about that model, but the gen 5 will do it all for a hunting/skinning/camp kitchen knife, you can't go wrong. When the gen 5 was introduced,i expected it to make 110 staus ,thats how much i like this knife.LOL

The Gen-5 must not have been that big a hit with consumers since it's been dropped from the catalog this year. It wasn't a very long lived pattern.

Happy to oblige Bad:thumbup: Love the Kalinga, I was just thinking last night of getting the 420hc black handled for regular use. My pro stays in the display case. Too expensive plus discontinued equals no usage.(sorry I dont have any fixed bladed)

I love my Gen 5. Its a great blade design, and I am also surprised it didnt last longer. I guess most guys take their game in now.... ??

My custom Kalinga 401 hasn't been delivered yet, when i get it, i will post a few pictures. All of the kalinga models are good looking, for me they are up high in the top 10 list of most beautifull knives!!:D

Did you receive your Kalinga? If so what do you think about the knife?
