Just wanted to let you all know that on "Trauma - Life in the ER" tonight on the TLC channel, there is going to be some interesting scenes of people using knives in a fashion that they were NOT intended!

It looks like one of those "el cheapo" survival knives. $5-$15 Flea Market specials.

A couple of tidbits:

The patient survived. Some very delicate surgery (I would imagine so!), but few apparent signs of permanent damage. Patient claims that he has now "found God". Do ya think?

Knife looks amazingly like an old Gutmann survival P.O.S. I owned about 20-25 years ago when I first started getting interested in sharp pointy things, while doing my own little Rambo thing. I'd like to think I know much better now.

I heard when he came into the emergency room, they thought it was a joke. I'm sure he wasn't laughing!!
 
Good thing he didn't let the other guy hit the end of the knife with that hammer one more time, it might have chipped a tooth!!!
