Some quick questions for Sal !

David,
Regarding your third point, have you ever seen an aluminum Civilian? It has a big, paddle-like clip with a Kraton grip surface that roughly approximates that on the non-clip side of the knife. It feels wonderful in the hand, but unfortunately the Kraton surface on the bottom of the clip makes for a really poor draw (somebody said something about sending me a plain clip...) The Pro-Venator has a similar, though less radical, arrangement.

All of the Zytel clips made some effort to incorporate themselves into a handle shape, but we've seen how these broke easily and were supplanted by metal ones. Various custom makers (self included

) have designed variously contoured clips in an attempt to make them more hand-friendly, but IMO this is one of the weakest areas in modern knife design, just waiting for a revolutionary idea or approach.

We're experimenting with some "contoured" clips with the Military, and the new clips on the G10 Police and G10 Civilian. Should be out is several months.

Currrent plans are to concentrate on making the clips more user friendly in like "don't scratch the furniture". We must be careful not to decrease the convenient function of the clip by trying to change it too much too fast. Some of the new "improved" clips require more effort to replace the knife to the storage place.

Nakano. We stopped making plain edge CoPilots seveal years ago. Although we may have to begin making them again because of the "new serrated edge fly rules".
