I haven't posted much lately...I've just been really busy. So I thought I'd share some of the random photos I've taken while I've been out and about working.

Some of these photos come from brushy fields and clearing along a dirt road in an area I like to frequent, and others are from an area around one of my favorite ponds.

There is a fairly healthy turkey population.

There is a lot of wild garlic in the area, some had some pretty good sized cloves for garlic growing in uncultivated soil.

Tastes pretty much the same, not quite as strong when it's fresh like this. I have some drying though. Thanks man, glad you enjoyed them.

very cool. I have never seen wild garlic. I'm going to be on the look out.

what camera do you use and is it a good point and click type. you take some killer pics man.

I'd be surprised if you haven't seen it, maybe just not recognized it. I've only recently positively identified it at various stages of it's growth.

Thanks man, I'm glad you enjoy them. It's a Nikon D3000, and yes it functions well as a P&S, but if I just wanted point and shoot capability I'd go for something lighter. Most of these pics come from me running my battery down so I can charge it at night and start the next day with a fresh battery.

Great pics as always.

I'm watching out for the ticks too. I heard on the radio that TN has already recorded 74 cases of Rocky Mtn Spotted fever. Also, very high number of poisonous spider bites. All due to the warm winter.

Thanks man. Yep, when I already had problems with ticks the whole last month of winter I knew the warm season was going to suck.

Thanks man. Lol it was a Milkyway that was getting soft when I stuck it in there, then hard to chew two hours later :)

O.K. Mist. So I showed that picture to the wife because she likes chocolate.Maybe she will get me one for our anniversary.:D

Thanks for the help.

Yeah, Joe did a review on these things a few years ago and timed how long the ice lasted in the carrier. Not remembering the exact time but a full bottle of ice and then water lasts a good while even with the plastic bottle, and even longer with the stainless steel bottles. You could get flat candy bars actually down in the compartment with the bottle but I was afraid I'd really smash the milkyway since it was so soft but as cold as it got it would have been ok.

Great photos and thanks for sharing. I really like the Spartan Blades Harsey. That's one awesome blade.

Thanks man, glad you enjoyed them. Yeah, the Hunter is awesome! I was really fortunate to get to do the write up on it, it has become one of my all time favorite belt knives and goes with me often.

The tics take all the fun out of exploring. Cool picture of the water spider.

I have slowly rid my yard of wild garlic, but the neighbors yard is full of the stuff. I did it out.

Thanks. I find it utterly hilarious that so many people spend so much money and spend so much of what little time they have in this life devoting so much effort to eradicating edible wild plants from their yards leaving behind only something that is only fit for the grazing of herbivorous animals (if it's fit for that) that they aren't aloud to have there anyway. The only thing funnier about it to me is how proud some people are when they have finally succeeded, as if they have accomplished some great deed. I see this a great testament to power of a well designed advertising campaign, and imagine monsanto has more than just a minor interest in it all. Personally I find wide expanses of well manicured grass useless, utterly boring, and vastly over-rated.

Nice pics 'Ol Bud ! I like my Maxpedition 10x4 Bottle holder to ! I can fill it up 50/50 Ice & water in my SS water bottle & it will bust your teeth all day long ! I like your new "Big Blade" !

I don't spend vast amounts of time or use chemicals. I dig the wild garlic out. Somebody else can enjoy their wild garlic.

My yard costs me at least the cost of several custom knives a year. I'd rather have the yard. Keeps my wife happy and the knives would certainly not make her happy.

Sorry, not meant as a dig at you, more thoughts on a couple of my neighbors and one in particular. I had one who spent countless hours spraying, digging, fertilizing, feeding, aerating, you name it. Every evening after work until sunset and every weekend I'd see him out working in his huge yard for hours on end. I bet he knows every blade of grass in his yard by name but knew nothing at all about his kids. His kids grew up, moved away and If I stop by while he is out working in his yard I still get to hear him complain about how they never write or come around. All I can ever think of to say is...well, at least you have the perfect yard.
