Some Random Fauna & Flora Photos

Nice pics 'Ol Bud ! I like my Maxpedition 10x4 Bottle holder to ! I can fill it up 50/50 Ice & water in my SS water bottle & it will bust your teeth all day long ! I like your new "Big Blade" !

Thanks bro! Yeah the SS bottles stay really cold in it. Yeah, that Armageddon is pretty sweet!

Those are amazing pictures! Do you have a great zoom or are you a world class dragonfly stalker? lol

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks man. Well some of those were taken with a 200 mm zoom and some with just a 55mm. Sometimes, if you move slow enough, dragonflies will sit still for pics when they land beside you :)

Have you made it down to the Little River/DeSoto SP again (Alabama)? I intended to spend a couple weekends down there during April, but there simply was not time. Your photos in the other thread along with Bear Gryllis' episode on the Little River had me running down there for the first time in late January.

Took some reasonably good turkey shots over in the Smoky Mt NP a couple weeks ago on a trout fishing outing. I didn't comment on your hen turkey shots. Hard to do and you have to take advantage of the opportunity when it presents itself. It is good to have an inquiring mind about nature. There is so much to learn and so little time. Maybe I should spend less time on my yard. :)

I haven't made it back down there yet, but planning a camping trip with the family this summer. I practically fell in love with that area the last time I was there and made some friends so really looking forward to going again this summer. I'm also hoping for another weekend at Monks Cove with the wife this autumn or early winter. That place is one of my favorite spots in the south.

Thanks, yeah turkey aren't all that fond of sitting still for photos. I am hoping to get back to the smokies this summer too. Eh, nothing wrong with liking to work in the yard, I enjoy it myself...I mow and trim, and cut my trees back...I just also like knowing that all it takes is to stop mowing and I have more than a half dozen wild edibles right outside my doors :) I bet the first European settlers that brought plantain here as a source of food never imagined that a few hundred years later it would be only a "broad leaf weed" that so many spent so much time trying to remove from their yards.
