Greetings all.
In the recent posting of my latest Russ Andrews knife, Jon Brand had asked if I displayed my knives. I also receieved a couple PMs asking for pics. So I snapped a couple of quick ones. The lighting was not the best - basically I just used the kitchen table by an open window - but they will serve.
As I had mentioned in the earlier thread, I don't have the luxury (or space, or spousal tolerance) to display all my knives, but some are always on view.
This custom display case came as part of the package, if you will, with my Legacy Dogbone D-guard bowie by John white. It is just beautifully constructed. Sometimes that knife sits in solo display, but at other times it has company, as here:
The second case is one I had made waaaaay back in the early days of my collecting when I was still finishing up school - it's a cherry wood table top display:
As you can see, it's a bit crowded - and only so many knives can fit at once - so I rortate pieces in and out of this case periodically. Russ' latest knife will be moving in - and it's a biggie - so probably two other pieces will moving out of the limelight in the short term.
My John Cohea warhawk was accompanied by a beautiful Mississippi driftwood display stand:
Which, with some careful positioning, was able to accomodate the lage belt knife and small friction folder as well:
My Stuart Branson Tanto likewise included a custom display stand, which now sits on my home desk / computer table:
Finally, I grabbed a few additional pieces not presently on display and made further use of the kitchen table:
Anyway, hope you've enjoyed the peek inside the box, so to speak. Have a great weekend.
Roger
