Here are some really nice ancient walrus ivory tusk sections for hidden tang knives. I have had these for about six months, so the colors should be set and they are half cured. I am happy to answer any questions about the stuff or working with it. Also, call your representatives and/or email them and tell them to oppose any bans of the sale of legal ivory in the U.S. If you don't, you stand a good chance of losing it.

Hi Phillppe, Yes, I can tell you how to get the permit, or I can get one for you, it's a service I provide at a cost for my time.

Basically, you need a shipper in the U.S. with a federal import/export license, the cost for that is $100.00 and it's pretty easy to get.

Next you apply for the CITES permit from both the country of origin and the country receiving the goods, it's an application that that submitted to the CITES head office on the east coast (US). Then you need your material inspected (the ivory or what have you) You pay the CITES/inspection fees (about $300.00) and in three months,if everything goes well, you get your CITES Permit.

In the US, we start at the local U.S. Fish and Wildlife office.
