It has been a long time since I have posted and I have seen some changes so I hesitate to post these on the Custom Handmade Threads because I think you need to purchase a member ship to post your knives there? ( I am not sure ).

But I am getting more comfortable with how my knives are turning out and I wanted to see what you guys had to say about what I tried to make out of some tactical style knives I finished last week.

I believe from what I can see that the grinds are super well done; on the other hand how does one hang on to it? That very well done carving looks to be very unfriendly. However, I sure would think some rounding of the handle and I believe it would become more user friendly. Frank

Frank, you are right right after the scalloping of the handles they were pretty rough and kind of sharp. However, what I did was hand sand all the edges and sharp contours until they where more rounded and not sharp. I can grip the handles as hard as I can and still not get poked or have any discomfort. You can see it in the pictures below.

To me it even looks better with the corners gone. It's a well made good looking knife !!! Frank

I'm not a huge fan of scallops, but I do like how aggressive those are.

The blade itself is very mean looking, I like it a lot. I also like the rear tang.

Impressive work.

One question. Maybe everyone knows and I'm just inexperienced, but what is up with the knife in the first pic, is that a coated blade and scales?

Looks great. If it feels good in your hand then that is a great indicator that someone with your hand size should be comfortable as well. Very nice work.

What is the grid on the blade in the first photo?

Great looking design. like what you did with it... simple, practical and well thought out. the only thing i would critique is the rear of the scales, and it's a minor one at that. the sharp corners of those could make it uncomfortable for the user in some tasks (especially with bare hands) and if I were to buy one, i would dremel them a little rounded for comfort. other than that i absolutely love your design. great looking knife.

The knife in the first picture is cerakoted. It was kind of an experiment, to see if I could do the entire knife after it was finished. The grind on that knife was like a 1/3 way up flat to a tanto tip.
