I figured it was time to post some of blades that I've finished up recently. I first on has 5" blade of 1084 with 416 guard and curly maple handle. The five in the photo all have 1095 blades averaging about 41/2" long with an assortment of handle woods.

Yesterday I had the privilege of taking the J.S. field test with Steve Culver down in his shop. After a tense few minutes I passed with flying colors.

Thanks for looking

AWESOME looking knives and congrat's!

Congrats on the test! I like the simple clean lines of your knives. Nothing fancy, but oh so clean and crisp. Nice work.

VERY Nice!!! Crisp and clean work with nice, flowing lines... I'm impressed!

Judging by the pics, I'd say you're a shoe-in for that stamp :)

Just don't forget to put pins in the handles of your test knives. I don't remember seeing it in the rules, but I was told you have to have pins in your 5 Js submission pieces.

I really like the looks of your handles, whatever you do for the finish on them is working in my book! that maple looks awesome!

Congrats on passing the first part. Good luck on the second half. From what I can see here you like you will do fine.

Congratulations Dave!!

Here’s a picture of Dave (test knife in hand) and I, right after Dave passed the test. Kinda’ looks like he is still in shock.

When Dave came to my shop for the test, he brought the knives pictured in this thread. I was very impressed with the quality of his work.

Steve was right I was still in shock. I don't think I took a breath during the bending portion of the test. The witness that took the picture for Steve and I stated my face was purple at the end of the bend.

I want to Thank everyone for there comments and Steve for allowing me to test with him.
