Jer screened porch , I stumbled across this. I have no idea about it's accuracy, but it sounds authoritative.

A quick note on the DE GM 9305297 inscription:


One of the guys at British Blades contacted Victorinox and got this reply:
"It's the term of our German registered design of the looking mechanism:

DE: Deutschland / Germany

GM: Gebrauchsmuster / registered design

9305297: number"
