Some sharpen easier

I can get all of my Beckers to the same level sharpness. Hair jumping sharp. Of course when I first get one, I have to sharpen it to my freehand angle. Then it's just a matter of touching up and stropping it to maintain sharpness.
I'm still using your freehand profile on the Bk5 bravo. I just touch it up with a crock stick.

I only have one Becker, the BK-11. It has never been real sharp, certainly not as sharp as my Esee's. I rely on the SharpMaker for all my knives, but this BK-11 still isn't real sharp, not as sharp as my Esee's came out of the box. With just a quick touch up, all 3 Esee's were scary sharp. Did I just get a poor example, and do I just need to keep going on the SharpMaker until it reaches a good edge?

kabar uses a slightly different secondary bevel than ESEE (and depending on age, Camillus was even steeper) -- you just need to keep going until it gets there.
my guess is that it's a 2-3 degree difference and you just haven't got there yet.
one trick is to coat the edge with a black sharpie and sharpen until all the black is gone.

The Bk11 has a 15° angle and Esee uses a 20° most other Beckers use a 20° but not on the Bk11.
